Isaiah 61:10-11
I will rejoice and be glad in the Lord
and greatly will I sing
My soul will exult in the Lord my God
making much of the Lord my King
The world may wonder and ask me why
and surely they must know
so I will sing with glad shouts of joy
the reasons for my hope
I have been clothed in garments pure
and wrapped in robes so white
as a bridegroom decks himself with crowns
and his bride with jewels so bright
And may they see that as from earth
a garden may spring up
so has the Lord caused righteousness
and praise to fill my cup
But not for you and I alone
are all these graces bought
but by the cross all nations find
the righteousness they've sought
And so I sing with joy to God
who through his Son has blessed
all nations red with sin's dark stain
with robes of righteousness
I will rejoice and be glad in the Lord
and greatly will I sing
My soul will exult in the Lord my God
making much of the Lord my King
The world may wonder and ask me why
and surely they must know
so I will sing with glad shouts of joy
the reasons for my hope
I have been clothed in garments pure
and wrapped in robes so white
as a bridegroom decks himself with crowns
and his bride with jewels so bright
And may they see that as from earth
a garden may spring up
so has the Lord caused righteousness
and praise to fill my cup
But not for you and I alone
are all these graces bought
but by the cross all nations find
the righteousness they've sought
And so I sing with joy to God
who through his Son has blessed
all nations red with sin's dark stain
with robes of righteousness
